"He conquered death. Humanity paid the price."
Science Fiction ThrillerWhen Hiroshi Tsuchiya, a reclusive Japanese biochemist, injects himself with a cobalt serum of his own creation and vanishes into a blizzard on Mount Rokko, he sets in motion a chain of events that will alter the course of human history — and doom millions.
Hugh Chamberlain, obsessed with Hiroshi's impossible 22-day survival in the frozen mountain, inherits both the serum and its terrible promise: suspended animation. The ability to pause life itself.
What begins as a breakthrough becomes a catastrophe. As Hugh builds Cordyceps BioMedical into a global empire of cryosleep facilities, the serum's dark consequences emerge — children born without consciousness, a world seduced by the illusion of immortality, and one man who must destroy everything he built to save humanity.

About the Author
Christian Malcolm was born in Boston, Massachusetts in 1970 and moved to California at age five following his father's battle with colon cancer — an early lesson in resilience that would quietly shape everything that followed.
A graduate of the University of Southern California and former captain of the USC crew team, Christian earned his degree from USC's business school before building a groundbreaking career in packaging. His relentless creativity led to over 12 patents for innovative products, with more than 2 billion packages sold worldwide.
His debut novel, Trapped, was inspired by the true story of a man lost on Rokko Mountain for 24 days — sparking his fascination with survival, suspended animation, and the profound human consequences of cryosleep technology.
